
the online journal of “Factname salamat” in collaboration with Cochrane Iran, held the first virtual workshop titled “Rumors and Infodemics: How can we respond to people’s questions?” in April 2025. In this session, experts emphasized the necessity of evidence-based decision-making in the health and underscored the importance of scientifically addressing information published in the virtual environment.
Dr. Farid Najafi, director of Cochrane Iran, emphasized the need for evidence-based approaches in health policy-making and determining a healthy lifestyle.

Additionally, Dr. Masud Yunesian, professor of epidemiology at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, introduced various dimensions of the infodemic phenomenon and discussed how to manage challenges arising from the rapid dissemination of inaccurate information.
Speakers highlighted factors such as secondary interests, deceptive techniques, and the high speed of content dissemination on social media, emphasizing the necessity of media literacy and using reliable sources to counter the negative consequences of this prominent phenomenon.
This scientific event is a significant step towards increasing public awareness and preparing managers and specialists to face health crises.
