Within the framework of a memorandum between the Cochrane global Network and Wikipedia, Cochrane Iran has undertaken the translation and publication of a series of medical Wikipedia pages into Persian, with the aim of improving the quality of medical information available in the public web space. These pages are developed based on systematic reviews and high-quality scientific evidence published by Cochrane, and seek to provide accurate, reliable, and understandable health information for Persian-speaking audiences.
This project, the list of topics for which is provided below, encompasses a wide range of medical and public health subjects. This initiative is aligned with Cochrane’s mission to provide evidence-based health information to support informed decision-making by patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and the general public.
Wikipedia, as one of the most frequently visited information resources in the world, plays a crucial role in shaping public understanding of medical issues. Given that many Persian-speaking users refer to this platform for initial health information, updating and enriching its content based on reliable scientific sources, particularly Cochrane reviews, is considered a strategic step toward improving health literacy, combating misinformation, and strengthening informed decision-making at the community level.
